Eric Schuldenfrei & Marisa Yiu are proud to be awarded the Design Vanguard, selected by Architectural Record magazine. In its 15th edition, Design Vanguard showcases emerging firms from around the world that are expanding the role of the architect by championing new approaches to design and practice. More here.

ESKYIU received Design For Asia Award for their Ido Portal installation under the “Culture, Public and Exhibition Spaces” category at the Awards Ceremony.

ESKYIU is currently working on a large scale public art commission; sustainability projects and an ocean- related educational architecture.

Eric Schuldenfrei and Marisa Yiu spoke at the Storefront for Art and Architecture in New York for “The Reading Images Series”. More details here. Presenters also included: Eva Franch, Mark Wigley, Jing Liu, Laura Kurgan, Jeffrey Johnson, David Benjamin, Thomas Yu and Damon Rich.

Marisa Yiu is curating and designing the POP-UP Studio-X space for the UABB*SZ Biennale. Global Studio-X is initiated by Mark Wigley of GSAPP. Marisa Yiu and Eric Schuldenfrei were invited to speak at  BODW. They shared their latest projects on the design of a  living heritage museum, interactive installations, and their soon to be completed “Industrial Forest” for Spring Workshop. See here on the events.

Marisa Yiu invited to moderate  Rethinking Cities forum at MaD . Speakers include Carlo RATTI (Director, MIT SENSEable City Lab), Sascha HASELMAYER (Co-founder, Citymart of Barcelona) and Prof Dehyun Sohn (Professor Emeritus, Department of Tourism, Hanyang University Seoul Korea). Marisa Yiu and Eric Schuldenfrei were Curators for Nike’sFlyknit Collective” Greater China project workshops. Opened at Shanghai’s Festival of Sport; and just launched at the Beijing Design Week (BJDW). Other global events are taking place here and ongoing in London here.  Flyknit Collective is a platform for creatives in all fields to generate dialogue in their own way and in their own communities inspired by Nike Flyknit’s revolutionary design technology; precisely engineered yarns that create a lightweight, form fitting and virtually seamless upper, designed to deliver great performance while reducing material waste. Marisa Yiu invited to speak at  Forum on transforming the Southern Sydney CBD “South Central CREATIVE QUARTER”.

ESKYIU invited to partake in New York’s Storefront for Art and Architecture exhibition: “Aesthetics  Anesthetics”, Opening June 26th 7-9pm. An architecture drawing exhibition with 30 drawings of Storefront’s gallery  by a selected group of international architects.

Eric Schuldenfrei delivers the keynote lecture at the Northern World Mandate, to be held at Aalto University in Helsinki in May 2012.

Marisa Yiu and Eric Schuldenfrei invited to speak at the 100th Anniversary celebration for Steelcase, called 100 MINUTES: Dreams, whimsy and brilliance curated by Sonia Chow. The event features 10 x 10-minute parcels of insight on design, sustainability and the future of work in a social gathering from the architecture and design community. 100 MINUTES focuses on design, innovation and creativity.
